Job Description Job Description A growing construction-focused
organization is seeking an experienced Credit & Collections Manager
to take full ownership of the company’s accounts receivable
function and lead the credit and collections team. This role is
responsible for improving cash flow performance, reducing Days
Sales Outstanding (DSO), and building strong internal and external
relationships across sales, branch leadership, and customers. This
position will play a key leadership role in assessing current
processes, implementing training programs, and developing best
practices for credit, collections, and customer relationship
management. Key Responsibilities Assume full ownership of the
company’s accounts receivable and collections operations Contact
customers with past-due balances to confirm payment status,
establish payment arrangements, and resolve disputes Drive
improvements in DSO and maintain consistent weekly cash flow Assess
the current AR team and implement structured training programs and
best practices Train team members on AR protocols, customer
communication, and relationship management Develop team skills in
evaluating customer creditworthiness and setting appropriate credit
limits Establish and maintain strong working relationships with
sales teams, branch managers, and customers Create and implement
credit policies and procedures Coordinate introductions and
relationship-building with key internal and external stakeholders
within the first month Ensure shared account knowledge and
consistency across the AR team Continuously improve efficiencies
and departmental processes Work Environment Full-time, onsite role
based in Birmingham Occasional travel to branch locations

Extensive experience in credit and collections within the
construction or project-based industry Proficiency with Notices to
Owner (NTOs), lien filings, and lien waivers in AL, GA, and FL
Strong leadership, training, and team development skills Excellent
communication and negotiation abilities Ability to balance customer
relationships with firm collection objectives Critical thinking and
problem-solving mindset Experience developing credit protocols and
