Assistant (SLPA) Location: St. Clair County, AL (Pell City /
Ashville / Springville areas) Compensation: $20.00 – $25.00 / Hour
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (School Calendar) Job Summary We
are looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Speech-Language
Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our clinical team in St. Clair
County. Working under the supervision of a licensed SLP, you will
provide essential therapy services to students from Pre-K through
12th grade. Your primary goal will be to implement treatment plans
that help students improve their communication skills, confidence,
and classroom participation. Key Responsibilities Direct Therapy
Implementation: Follow documented treatment plans or protocols
developed by the supervising SLP to treat disorders of
articulation, language, voice, and fluency. Student Engagement:
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to practice speech
exercises and language activities. Progress Tracking: Collect data
and document student performance during sessions, providing clear
and concise notes to the supervising SLP. Material Preparation:
Assist in creating and adapting clinical materials (visual
schedules, communication boards, or digital tools) to meet the
specific needs of the student. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and
check augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to
ensure they are functional for student use. Clerical Support:
Assist with clerical duties such as scheduling, record keeping, and
preparing for IEP meetings as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications Education: Associate degree from a
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program OR a Bachelors degree
in a relevant field (Communication Sciences and Disorders).
Licensure: Current Alabama SLPA License issued by the Alabama Board
of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (ABESPA).
Certification: Must meet all ALSDE (Alabama State Department of
Education) requirements for support personnel. Experience: Previous
experience in a school or pediatric clinical setting is preferred.
Background Check: Must pass the Alabama state-mandated background
check and fingerprinting process. Key Skills: * Ability to follow
complex clinical protocols with high accuracy. Strong "people
skills" to build rapport with children of all ages. Excellent time
management to keep up with school-day schedules. Working in St.
