Employer Auburn University Location Auburn, Alabama (US) Salary excellent benefit options Posted June 28 2019 Ref Gross Anatomy/Neuroanatomy Discipline Other, Education Position Type Full Time Organization Type Academia Job Type Faculty You need to sign in or create an account to save FACULTY POSITION IN VETERINARY GROSS ANATOMY/NEUROANATOMY The Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology, within the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University, invites applications for a full-time 12-month tenure track position in Gross Anatomy at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Minimum qualifications include a DVM degree (or equivalent) and/or PhD in Biomedical Sciences or an allied field at the time employment begins. Post-doctoral experience is desirable. Responsibilities will include team-teaching of gross anatomy to first year veterinary students, with specific involvement in Neuroanatomy/ Neuroscience courses (lectures and labs). The successful candidate will also be expected to develop a scholarly and externally funded research program in the area of his or her expertise. Startup funding and lab space will be available. We are a multi-disciplinary department with existing research strengths for potential collaborations in areas of neuroscience, reproductive, cardiovascular, and metabolic diseases. Examples of collaborative research platforms that include networks of scientists conducting both basic and applied research are the Canine Performance Sciences program in olfaction, neuroscience, genetics, and physical performance to advance canine technology, the Boshell Program conducting research on obesity, and Auburn University Research Initiative in Cancer (AURIC). The CVM is also the home of the Scott-Ritchey Research Center (SRRC) that conducts interdisciplinary basic and translation research to improve the health of dogs and cats.
