Client Are you a hands-on Controls Engineer looking to make a
measurable impact in a fast?paced manufacturing environment? I'm
partnering with a long?standing, growth?oriented manufacturer in
the Detroit metro area that is investing heavily in automation and
process optimization. They are seeking a sharp, driven engineering
professional who can own PLC systems, troubleshoot efficiently, and
support continuous improvement across the plant. About the Role In
this role, you'll serve as the go-to controls resource-supporting
production, upgrading automation systems, and ensuring that
high?volume operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You'll collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and
Operations teams to support new equipment integration, upgrades,
and ongoing process improvements. Key Responsibilities Develop,
modify, and optimize PLC programs (ladder logic, structured text,
function block) for manufacturing equipment. Support equipment
installation, commissioning, debugging, and start-up activities.
Analyze downtime events, troubleshoot electrical/controls issues,
and drive root?cause corrective actions. Integrate PLCs with
auxiliary systems including HMIs, drives, sensors, safety circuits,
and plant networks. Maintain and update documentation: electrical
schematics, I/O lists, technical manuals, and change logs.
Collaborate cross?functionally with production, quality, and
maintenance teams to support efficiency and reliability
initiatives. Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety
standards within an industrial environment. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation,
Mechatronics, or a related field. 3 years of experience in controls
or automation engineering within a manufacturing setting. Strong
proficiency in PLC programming (Allen?Bradley or Siemens experience
strongly preferred). Solid understanding of industrial automation
hardware: VFDs, sensors, HMIs, robotics interfaces, and safety
controllers. Proven troubleshooting and problem?solving skills in a
production environment. Preferred (Not Required) Experience with
HMI development (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or similar). Exposure to
industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, Profinet). Familiarity with
AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools for reading/modifying
schematics. Background supporting continuous improvement, OEE
initiatives, or lean manufacturing. Why It's a Strong Opportunity
