Job Description:
Job Description The Manufacturing Manager - Machining is
responsible of the overall operation of the Machining department to
include safety, quality, morale, scheduling, and meeting required
planned production. RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manufacturing Manager -
Machining is responsible of the overall operation of the Machining
department to include safety, quality, morale, scheduling, and
meeting required planned production. Establish strong team member
relations, motivate, support, and provide guidance to all
department staff. Ensure all safety and health standards are met to
keep an organization accident-free. Communicate regularly with
upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Evaluate and control machine and workforce resources to ensure
continued production and minimal downtime. Establish individual and
department goals and monitors progress to accomplish organizational
objectives. Contribute to the planning and implementation of new
products and work processes to increase productivity; provide
suggestions and input to improve production process, productivity,
and quality. Hires, directs necessary trainings, and evaluates
engineering, supervisory team and manufacturing workers; monitor
paint shop team to ensure they meet performance and safety
requirements. Analyze manufacturing data and identify trends,
anomalies, downtimes, and opportunities for improvement; identify
and utilize methods of making manufacturing process more efficient
and effective (reducing waste, using lean). Ensure that
Manufacturing department stays on schedule and within budget.
Monitor spending in the department and help keep costs down.
Administer disciplinary action if necessary, in accordance with the
Wheel Pros handbook. Plan daily staffing needs including temporary
workers, employee vacations, callouts etc. Hold team meetings and
communicate pertinent information to paint shop employees. This
position has the responsibility for maintaining and supporting ISO
9001 and ISO 14001 and the company---s environmental, health, and
safety programs. They should also be aware of the occupational
health & safety risks of their job, and how their job affects the
environment. Performs other duties as directed by upper Management.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have strong written and verbal communication
skill. Lean and Kaizen skills. CNC experience. Strong organization
skills. College coursework required. Ability to read and interpret
specifications and process instructions. Familiarity with metric
systems of measurement. Advance Computer skills are required. Must
demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills. Must be
computer literate on the Windows platform. PREFERRED SKILLS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is normally performed in an office,
laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where
physical work includes, but is not limited to, sitting, standing,
reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be able
to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices. FLSA
STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE : Location: Auburn, Alabama Schedule: Day
Shift Core Hours: 8:00 am --- 5:00 pm / Monday --- Friday Weekly
Overtime: As needed Weekend Work: As needed Travel: None Assignment
