Join us to bring the gift of health to life.----Environmental Health & Safety Generalist AssociateOpelika, AL--The Environmental, Health and Safety Generalist is responsible for implementing and monitoring organization policies and procedures in regard to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with regulations and procedures by carrying out and analyzing regular facility audits driving continuous improvement. Provides information and training in emergency response procedures, hazardous material handling, and industrial hygiene policies. Manages the collection, storage, transportation, and shipping of hazardous waste. The Generalist, Environmental, Health and Safety reports to the EHS Manager.--Key Responsibilities----Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:--Coordinates programs and/or processes specific to EH&S, SMS, business continuity and security, such as evacuation drills, emergency response training, disaster tabletop exercises, risk management inspections------Performs Operational Risk Management Inspections on a regular basis, making recommendations for continuous improvement. Research materials, equipment or supplies to remediate potential hazards in a proactive way. Reports anomalies immediately to site Management------Approves Hazardous Waste Manifests and monitors both hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams.----Develops and executes safety and environmental related Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans and verifies the effectiveness of implemented CAPA.----Manages the site's accident / incident investigation process, ensuring root cause is identified along with robust corrective actions and themes to reduce the risk of the next injury.------Ideal Candidate Profile----The ideal candidate is recognized as a technical expert in the safety and environmental space who is ready to lead the site through our transition from a reactive to proactive space. You are a strategic thinker who is able to put together the foundational elements of our safety and environmental programs into a strategic plan which we can put resources behind and deploy across the site.----Critical Success Factors------You ll be most successful in this role if you have:----Bias for action, relentless in getting to root cause and finds implementing sustainable solutions personally rewarding --Strategical thinker: can easily assess and determine the appropriate priorities from a number of different inputs --Strong influencing skills creates a compelling business case for change and gets others onboard to drive change --Technical expert in Safety and Environmental space --Drives employee engagement makes time for others, works well in a team, establishes trust and holds self and others accountable for results ----Capabilities & Skills Required----In order to take on these challenges, you ll need to have:--Requires at least 3 years working in manufacturing/production environment in a similar role. --Comprehensive knowledge of government regulations/code compliance, including OSHA, environmental and other relevant regulations and laws. --Excellent oral and written skills to communicate at multiple levels in the organization and create strong compelling business cases for change. --Strong investigation and problem-solving skills, follows a standardized process to determine root causes and demonstrates a bias for action to implement solutions. --Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and quickly establish and maintain relationships at all levels across the organization. --Leverages network, peers and influence to solve problems. --OUR OFFERHere, career paths aren't predefined, and bureaucratic limitations don't exist -- you have the opportunity to grow, learn from industry pioneers, and develop the way you want to.
