A healthcare professional is needed to provide specialized nursing care in a school setting, supporting an elementary student in a 1:1 capacity. This travel assignment is based in Auburn, NY, with service provided in Moravia, NY and surrounding areas. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing support to a non-verbal 1st grade student with tracheostomy care needs. Responsibilities include: Providing one-on-one nursing care during the school day, Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with an early release option once all duties are completed. Monitoring and maintaining tracheostomy care, including suctioning and cleaning. Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as feeding. Offering academic support as needed and supervising the student during elective classes outside the special education environment. Ensuring safety and health compliance throughout the school day. Desired Qualifications and Experience: Current RN licensure with school nursing experience preferred. Experience in tracheostomy care and suctioning procedures essential. Ability to provide feeding assistance and general ADL support. Comfort working in an elementary school environment. Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable, enhancing communication and support for the student and family. Strong observational skills with the ability to work independently. Location: Moravia, NY, with coverage of surrounding areas. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with a duty-free lunch break and competitive compensation ranging from $38 to $45 per hour. Nurses are paid for the full day and may leave early when all responsibilities are completed.
