Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience. • Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • COVID vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. • 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB. Additional Details: Required Skills/Experience: • First-time traveler: Atleast 18 months experience in MedSurg with EPIC or Cerner experience • RNs are required to interpret and confirm q4 hours strip reading. Unit/Facility Details: Parking: Parking deck only 2nd through 4th levels Special Requests: Baptist 2025 Blackout RTO dates: -Entire month of March -Easter Weekend: 4/18 – 20 -Mother’s Day Weekend, 5/10-12 -Memorial Day (week): 5/24 – 5/26 -Father’s Day Weekend 6/14-16 Shift & Scheduling: • Weekend rotation: Every other or 4 weekend days per month • On call: No • Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy • Holiday Expectations: This does not mean they will automatically be scheduled for those dates, but we will not contractually guarantee to being off prior to arrival. Floating Requirements: Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds) 6 North Trauma Surgical • Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 • Skills required: At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations. 5 South Neuroscience • Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 • Skills required: IV start, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, Colostomy/Ostomy, Wound Care, Chest tube, Surgical Site Care, C-Collar, Abdominal Binders, Restraints. 5 North MedSurg/Oncology: chemo experience high preferred • Patient ratios: 1:6 for RN and LPNs • Skills required: Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; Chemo administration, if certified. • Tele monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs on ground floor 4 South Clinical Decision Unit • Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 • Skills required: Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. • Tracheotomy care, Suctioning, O2 Therapy, ostomy care, Foley care, External catheter care, PEG/NGT care and use, wound care, chest tube, central line care, pressure ulcer management/preventive measures, falls prevention management, restraints. 3 South Orthopedics • Patient Ratios: 1:5; 1:6 if medsurg • Skills required: PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains) 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology • Patient Ratios: 1-5:6 • Skills Required: Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. 7 days maximum time off.
