1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology
Technologist - X-Ray for a 13-week night shift assignment at a
Level II Trauma Center in Montgomery, AL, with fluoroscopy and
surgery experience required. Details - Work in the main Radiology
department of a 492-bed Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke
Center with a Level III NICU - Inpatient and outpatient setting
serving adult and occasional pediatric patients (outpatients/ED) -
Patient ratio of 1:1, averaging approximately 4 patients/hour (40
patients/day) - Procedures include fluoroscopy, surgery, portable,
trauma, and diagnostic X-ray; O-arm experience preferred; DEXA
experience a plus - Equipment includes GE and Siemens fluoroscopy
rooms, Konica DR room, 2 Siemens X-ray rooms, GE and Carestream
portables - EMR: Cerner - 10-hour night shifts, Thursday–Sunday,
9:00 PM start, 40 hours/week - Float throughout the hospital and
across different areas within the Radiology department - Weekend
rotation varies, typically once a month but subject to change based
on departmental needs - On-call is voluntary - Holiday coverage
expectations follow hospital policy; one major and one minor
seasonal holiday required per policy Requirements - Current BLS and
ARRT certifications required - License required if applicable
(note: Alabama does not require a state license for X-Ray Techs —
ARRT is the only requirement) - Minimum 1 year of experience
considered if strong skills are demonstrated; first-time travelers
accepted with at least 2 years of experience - Fluoroscopy
experience required - Surgery X-ray experience required -
Experience with portable, trauma, and diagnostic X-ray required -
Lead markers experience required (note: rad techs are expected to
purchase their own markers) - Ability to work with adult and
occasional pediatric patient populations - DOB (day and month), one
reference from charge level or above within the past 12 months, and
copies of certifications required for consideration Additional
Information - Orientation consists of one 8-hour hospital
orientation followed by 2–3 shifts on the unit during day shift
alongside another technologist - Weekend staffing typically
includes 3–4 techs and 2–3 students; night shift typically has 3–4
techs - Any color scrubs permitted - Free parking available -
Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be
eligible - Former permanent staff must wait 6 months before being
considered as a traveler - RTO requests exceeding 7 days must be
approved by the manager via email; contract extension may be
