This role supports a 12-bed med-surg and stepdown unit caring for patients with conditions such as sickle cell disease, heart failure, and other complex medical-surgical needs. The unit demands strong clinical skills in telemetry, drip titration, and patient assessment within a fast-paced hospital setting. Location: Midway, GA This assignment is located in Midway, GA, near Savannah, offering a blend of coastal living and rich historical charm. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active RN license Minimum 2 years of recent hospital PCU or stepdown experience with a comparable patient acuity and hospital size Successful completion of at least one prior travel nursing contract Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Proficient in telemetry monitoring and safe drip titration Ability to pull own labs; phlebotomy not required Strong critical thinking and communication skills Must pass clinical resume review for submission Responsibilities: Monitor and provide direct nursing care to patients with med-surg and stepdown needs Manage telemetry monitoring and titrate IV drips as prescribed Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and serve as charge nurse when assigned Utilize Space Lab telemetry systems; no requirement to interpret strips independently Adhere to patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:5 based on acuity Participate in a structured orientation including computer training and precepted shifts Support weekend and holiday coverage on a rotating schedule; no call or floating required Additional Details: Navy scrubs dress code Self-scheduling allowed for shifts No tele/monitor techs or floating required on this unit Travel position requiring flexibility to relocate with strict compliance to a 100-mile radius rule (non-local candidates preferred) This is a rewarding travel nursing role that offers the chance to enhance your PCU expertise while experiencing the scenic and vibrant Gulf Coast lifestyle.
