Job Description:

Ensures proper and efficient operation of wastewater treatment system including operation, cleaning, repair and maintenance. With minimal supervision, perform tasks essential for maintaining the facility's compliance with all environmental regulations and assists facility maintenance as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  1. With minimal supervision, the employee will perform a variety of duties related to the processing, treatment, and disposition of hazardous materials.
  2. Maintains the wastewater treatment equipment. Tasks include electrical, plumbing, and hydraulic repairs
  3. Operates the wastewater treatment system. Gages water coming in, process water concentrations and maintains concentration levels on equipment in departments
  4. Perform sampling of waste and wastewater for analysis.
  5. Manage all hazardous waste generated at the facility including container selection, labeling, proper storage and transportation.
  6. Perform compliance inspections and complete inspection reports
  7. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
  • Solid knowledge of the various environmental regulations that pertain to the facility including hazardous waste management, stormwater pollution prevention, spill control and countermeasures and, hazardous material transportation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of biological, physical and chemical wastewater treatment techniques
  • Ability to properly sample and safety handle waste and wastewater for constituent analysis
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment system and ability to troubleshoot problems associated efficient removal of metals and other pollutants
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education High School diploma General Education Degree Experience Requirements
  • 3 years experience in industrial maintenance, wastewater treatment or similar field
Physical & Environmental Requirements May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. (Frequently 5 25 pounds), (Occasionally 25 75 pounds), (Rarely greater than 75 pounds) Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to work in confined spaces Ability to climb stairs and / or ladders over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Ability to operate various types of machinery and / or power tools with varying levels of vibration over a full work shift (8 12 hours) Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours) Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours) May require employee to wear respirator for some job duties

-Assist with new hire safety training.

-Assist with ensuring safety compliance with Federal, State, and company policies.

-Assist with safety audits (Daily safety walks, corrective actions, inspections of safety equipment).

-Assist with LOTO training and revisions of plicy and P.I.T. training.

-Other safety duties may be assigned.
