Job Summary

Part-time Administrative Assistant to support the Health Services Administration and Pre-Law Scholars Programs housed within the Department of Political Science. The position assists the HADM Program Director and the Pre-Law Program Coordinator by performing a variety of office support duties as assigned. These duties include but are not limited to data entry and record keeping for internship programs, alumni & program data collection, travel planning and reimbursement processing, assisting with planning and execution of special events (e.g, law school fair, alumni symposia, campus visits from law school admissions personnel, etc.), making updates to website, and budget/expenditure tracking, among other duties as needed.

Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
  • Creates and maintains records, files, documents, and images in program databases.
  • Creates & distributes correspondence.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Researches information as required to support program needs.
  • Operates standard office equipment such as personal computers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, etc.
