Truckstop.com is hiring a People & Culture AssistantRemote: Any LocationPosition Summary:The People & Culture (P&C) Assistant will join a People & Culture Operations team whose primary focus is to develop, manage and oversee all core "HR" responsibilities while driving a collaborative culture that embraces our "One Team" mentality. The P&C Assistant will support the day-to-day P&C operations in a variety of capacities including onboarding, leave management administration, benefit reconciliation, and reporting. The P&C Assistant will report to the Senior Director or People Operations.Essential Job Functions:* Manage daily changes and input while overseeing data integrity and reporting out from our HRIS system* Develop deep understanding of our practices and assist in the build out of modules within UKG* Prepare hiring, promotion or job change documentation* Participate in bi-weekly onboarding for new partners* Conduct and ensure compliant background screening* Process new employees through onboarding system* Manage referral bonus process* Assist P&C Business Partners in creating and updating job descriptions* Prepare all partner separation notices and related documentation* Supports the P&C team by administering processes - including new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations* Assist with benefit enrollments in person or entry into HRIS. Maintain benefit records as appropriate. Schedule and assist with open enrollment. Ensure timely follow up with employees regarding benefit enrollment or changes (marriage, newborn, job change)* Handle monthly reconciliation, billing and escalation challenges for partners related to benefits* Assist in the management of leave including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability* Manage all day-to-day administration tasks for People Operations Team, including verifications of employment and unemployment claim responses* Work with all levels of partners and leaders across the organization, providing timely and exceptional quality customer service* Provide assistance with other P&C Ops functions as needed, including programs such as wellness, open enrollment, company events, etc.* Develop strong working relationships with partners in order to understand needs and assist in developing effective PC solutions* Participate in developing department goals and objectives* Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs* Develop and distribute reports for PC projects or functions; lead PC projects as assigned* Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations* Maintains P&C Ops manuals, procedures, and information as needed.* Maintains strict confidentiality in completion of job duties* Assist in documenting best practices for emerging procedures and long-term Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)* Manage ACA and EEO reporting* Partners with P&C Business Partners and Senior Director on critical functions such as compensation, benefits, etc. May require monthly data reporting & light analytics* Other duties as assignedPosition Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, preferred* A minimum of 2 years of general human resources experience* Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) with the ability to become our UKG subject matter expert. UKG experience a plus* Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications and ability to learn new software* Manage multiple responsibilities with sound organizational skills and attention to detail; accuracy is essential* Work independently with little supervision* Approachable, customer service focused, can do attitude is required* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Possess a high degree of integrity, discretion and maintain confidentiality* Ability to prioritize tasks and be flexible with changes in work loads* Ability to assess multiple demands and priorities and identify necessary resources to handle critical work demands* Ability to read, understand, and carry out simple and detailed written or verbal instructions* Work as a team player, sharing knowledge and skills* Willingness to support additional projects, as neededPhysical Demands:Minimum physical exertion. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 75% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse.Work Environment:The working conditions will vary between an office environment and a remote home environment. The ideal protected indoor work environment is a clean, non-hazardous work area.
