Location/Division Specific Information:
Life Science Solutions Group - Biosciences Division, Western Workflow.

This is a remote, home-based sales role , so there is flexibility in locations near large cities within the Eastern US that have easy airport access. Sales will mainly be conducted from a home office, but quarterly travel to customers and travel to sales meetings is required.

How will you make an impact?
The Western Workflow portfolio contains innovative, high quality reagents and instruments to researchers worldwide that empower the process of scientific discovery with reagents for every step in the western blotting process. As a team, we provide the technical sales support to help enable our customers to generate high quality, publishable results with minimal time and effort. We are a team of 13 hardworking, Technical Sales Specialists (TSS) who take pride in supporting our customer's scientific needs.

What will you do?
Be the technical specialist to drive sales and support the sales team for the full Western Workflow portfolio of products in your territory.
Achieve territory sales goals by proactively calling on existing and potential new customers via field visits, email and by telephone.
Work closely with LSG (Life Sciences Group) counterparts and Distribution reps to develop specific account growth strategies, account mapping and penetration.
Have in-depth knowledge of Western Blotting products.
Prospect for and qualify sales leads, building a strong pipeline.
Perform complete western workflow demos of extraction, electrophoresis, transfer, immunoblotting, detection and analysis as needed. Remote demoing if possible is preferred.
Maintain appropriate records and process demos, quotes, and sample requests per Company guidelines.
Collect, process, and share competitive intelligence and market feedback.
Provide forecasting and reporting as needed on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.
Participate in trade shows, vendor shows, and related activities.
Prepare and implement annual Territory Sales Plan and updates as needed.
Provide after sales technical support and customer service.

How will you get here?
Bachelor's degree in the Life Sciences or Biochemistry is required, advanced degree or bench experience is a bonus.
Hands-on experience with western blotting via prior work experience and/or education is highly desired.
Lab, selling and/or customer-facing experience within the life sciences industry preferred.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in parallel and balance workload based on priority.
Outstanding customer relationship management and influence capabilities.
Ability to develop strong internal working relationships and navigate a highly matrixed environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to learn and use on-line CRM application and social media resources to grow territory.
Proven track record of defining and implementing a strategy to achieve results.
May have overnight travel up to 20% of the time based upon territory.
Position may require Covid-19 vaccination and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.
