The Testing Specialist is an entry-level position within our Integrated Air Services (IAS) Group. WESTON's IAS team conducts testing projects to assist our clients in development of air quality improvement strategies and demonstrate emissions compliance with industry specific regulations set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 40 - Protection of Environment. The project technical scopes are typically related to measurement of air emissions directly from an industrial source and/or the ambient air in the vicinity of the source using state of the art instrumentation housed in mobile laboratories. The Testing Specialist position responsibilities include working safely in a positive enterprise and team environment. Technical tasks of the position include performing scientific emissions testing procedures utilizing EPA or ASTM Test Methodologies. Most project testing sites are located within the Southeast Region, but the position may require travel up 75%. Project assignments with WESTON groups in other regions in the US are possible which opens the door to explore areas of the country you may not have the opportunity to visit otherwise. All travel expenses are fully paid and a daily per diem rate for meals is provided. Come join one of WESTON's core disciplines. The Testing Specialist position is paid on an hourly basis with a starting rate of $20-$25/hr dependent upon education level and/or related experience. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Part-time positions may also be available. Qualifications BS degree in an Environmental, Physical Science, or Engineering discipline preferred or High School diploma plus 2 years related experience. Experience with power plant and/or pulp and paper industry is a plus. Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
