Equipment Operator - Wedowee, AL JOB SUMMARY: Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but is not limited to; front-end loaders, skid steers, track-hoes, and bulldozers. This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Always operate equipment in a safe manner Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination. Serve as a company ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public. Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the equipment. Perform shop clean up, maintenance, and equipment/tools setup. Maintain operation records. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Communication skills - verbal and written. Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment safely. Ability to perform basic math. Mechanical and electrical aptitude Ability to follow directions. Mechanical and electrical aptitude Clean MVR Dump truck and/or yard jockey experience a plus, not required EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) Valid Drivers' License Class A CDL a plus, not required. Minimum 2 years heavy equipment operator work experience preferred. Clean MVR WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Sitting, Climbing, Balancing, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Feeling, lifting to 50 lbs., Talking, Hearing, and Seeing The employee is subject to confined spaces. The employee is subject to outside environmental conditions: No effective protection from weather. The employee is subject to atmospheric conditions. The employee is subject to hazards: Including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat, or exposure to bio-solids. This position requires overtime.
