The Office of Professional and Career Development within the
Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks candidates
for a Career Counselor position to advise and counsel students and
alumni concerning career choices and employment opportunities.

Essential Functions
The responsibilities for this position include the following:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Level I: Master's degree from an accredited institution in
Education, Counseling, or related field no experience required.
Level II: Master's degree from an accredited institution in
Education, Counseling, or related field plus 2 years of experience
providing career counseling and planning services.
Level III: Master's degree from an accredited institution in
Education, Counseling, or related field plus 4 years of experience
providing career counseling and planning services. Experience must
include at least 2 years at the preceding level or equivalent.
Substitutions allowed for Experience:
When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required
experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate
education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1)
year relevant education per year of required experience.
Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications
Minimum Skills and Abilities
Must have great communication skills to connect with students,
alumni, and employers.
Familiarity with career assessment instruments, knowledge of career
fields and employment markets, knowledge of career/job search
engines/websites, ability to work collaboratively with other staff
in teams to accomplish goals.
Minimum Technology Skills
Microsoft Suite.
Minimum License and Certifications
None Required.
